Dowen College Remains Closed As Other Lagos Schools Resume Tuesday



As public and private elementary and secondary schools in Lagos resumes on Tuesday for the start of the second quarter, state officials have said the beleaguered Dowen College, a high school located in Lekki, will not reopen.

Lovetvnews Nigeria reports that the government said until investigations into the unfortunate incident of the death of one of its two high school students, Sylvester Oromoni Junior, who was allegedly beaten and forced to drink a poisonous substance allegedly by some bullying seniors, comes to a logical conclusion, the school said. you will not be allowed to resume.

According to a deputy director in charge of the education ministry’s public affairs unit, Ganiu Lawal, very soon the school will also join others to resume, but “not until ongoing investigations about the unfortunate incident reach an advanced stage. “
