Pandora Papers : EFCC Goes After Peter Obi Following Indictment



The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has invited former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, over Pandora Papers report.


Lovetvnews Nigeria reports that the vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 election was asked to appear before it on October 27.

He is being summoned over his indictment in the Pandora Papers, a document that has been exposing a tax safe haven for man notable Nigeria. He is being invited to come and say what he knows about alleged financial regulations by operating his company and overseas bank account while in public office, in violation of existing laws.

While in office as governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi was accused of refusing to publicly register assets he co-owned with members of his family, which is a requirement of public workers under the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) legislation.

As the EFCC invites Peter Obi Omonaijablog learnt that the agency communicated the invitation to the former governor during the week and has been mandated to go after other suspects whose names have featured in the Pandora Papers scandal, an investigative series comprising of 600 journalists globally.
